Fishery awareness meeting held

An awareness meeting on local fishery was organized at Kajalgaon bazaar and Sialmari on Thursday with Jibeswar Mushahary in the chair.

It was organized by Chirang District Fishery Development Officer under Assam Fishery Act to bring awareness about rearing of locally found fishes in the region instead of Thailand magur fish.

Debrabroto Das, AFIO, Abdul Raffique, Chirang FEO,Madhav Kalita, Baksa FEO attended the meeting and delivered lectured about benefits of locally product fishes and its merits. They also said that government was extending supports towards rearing of fishes so that common publics could be sustained in their livelihood earning in the region.
