NDFB-S militants killed in Kokrajhar

Security forces claimed to have gunned down three hard core NDFB-S rebels during a series of counter insurgency operations in Kokrajhar district on Sunday. The three insurgents were killed in three different incidents of shoot outs in the wee hours. According to information, they were killed in encounters at a dense jungle. They include Rahul Basumatary and Ritu Basumatary.

Police further claimed to have seized four pistols, hand grenades from their possession.

A group of hardcore insurgents from three outfits is believed to have been hiding in a dense jungle along the Assam-Arunachal Pradesh border in Tinsukia district. According to sources, the militants from Myanmar have been camping in the jungle to change the R 500 and R 100o note following the change in the monetary policy. These militants are suspected to have attacked the army convoy in Tinsukia on Saturday where three army men were killed and another struggling with death.
