Luitpar Club in Narengi Campus of Oil India Limited recently organized a unique initiative for encouraging reading habit among the residents, primarily the young people in the colony. The club supplied various books in Assamese, English, Hindi and Bengali language to the households under Rasaraj Lakshminath Bezbaruah mobile library.
The program was launched by journalist Nava Thakuria on 21 July in presence of Luitpar Club president, its secretary Narayan Majumder, senior members including Padmeswar Kalita, Haren Sarma, Jadav Kalita, Tapas Bhattacharya, Hira Rajbongshi etc.

GUWAHATI: The United Liberation Front of Asom (I) has urged the people to endorse the age old and indigenous culture and tradition to help the Assamese stand tall as a nation. Kokrajhar: A six member team of the Central Bureau of Investigation(CBI) has started probing the murder of Lafikul Islam Ahmed in Kokrajhar four months after the sensational case struck the state. KOKRAJHAR: The police have arrested Budhiram Hembrom a month after he allegedly killed Gohai Murmu in Dhordhora village near Kachugaon in Kokrajhar district. According to police, Hembrom is the prime accused in the sensational murder case registered in Kachugaon PS case no. 65/2017 u/s 302 IPC r/w Sec. 27 Arms Act) in the intervening night of 12 December.
