Administration monitoring flood situation in Kokrajhar
District administration, Kokrajhar has been monitoring flood situation in Kokrajhar which has been creating resented among citizens in the district since few days back following incessant raining in the region. Madhav Prasad Sarma, Kokrajhar DC and district magistrate told this correspondent that district administration has been monitoring flood situation with fully prepared of flood rescued. He said that district administration has also convened all line departmental official to discuss about flood related matters to create awareness on flood rescued management as well protection of the floods. District administration has been providing relief materials to the flood affected peoples in the district, Sarma said.
'The flood situation in the district is under control and no new report of flood erosion was reported in the district', he said adding that district has yet to declare high alert on flood flowing in the district, besides receive of water release from Neighbouring Bhutan.
Sarma also told that district administration has been working to the best service for the flood affected citizens with fully extending relief and medical services.

Apurna Narzary, an international women's football player, has been nominated for the Emerging Player award for 2022-23 by the Sports & Youth Welfare department of the government of Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR). Narzary has represented India in several international events and is the daughter of Biswajit Narzary of Khagrabari village in Kokrajhar district. The award will be presented to her during the Baokhungri festival celebration at Baokhungri Hill site near Harinaguri in Kokrajhar.
