Couple held for trafficking
A couple was apprehended from Karigaon under Kokrajhar PS for allegedly human trafficking cases by Nedan NGO and AASAA activists on Wednesday.
According to police,the couple was arrested when they reach along with trafficked girl to return her at Karigaon,who trafficked girl in October last year.
The couple was identified as Ramesh Yadav and Chumki Murmu,hailed from Islampur of Dinajpur of West Bengal state.The couple has been involved with human trafficking from the region since few years back, a NGO activist in Kokrajhar.
‘Interrogation is on them and expected more inputs about trafficking will become out’, said an AASAA activist.

Kokrajhar: One labourer died and five others have received serious injuries due to electrocution incident at Boro Bhatarmari in Kokrajhar town today morning. Injuries are immediately rushed to hospital in Kokrajhar. Accordig to injury persons, the labourers were involved with installing electric pole in the village when the incident occurred by 10.30 am today. Kokrajhar: As many as three hardcore cadres of the NDFB- Saoraigwra faction were apprehended by Kerala police in Ernakulam on Thursday morning. Kokrajhar: Mohmedan Sporting Club, Kolkata defeated Oil Sports Club, Duliajan 4-3 via penalty kick to lift the trophy in the final match of the19th edition of the Bodoland Martyrs Gold Cup football championship-2018 held at KDSA stadium on Sunday evening.
