NDFB (S) informer held

Police apprehended a suspected over ground worker/sympathizer of NDFB-S identified as Paulina Basumatary 22, wife of a NDFB-S cadre Compounder alias Khaose from No 1 Nandipur village under Kachugaon police station in Kokrajhar district .

Police said Rs 15,000 (extorted from Audung Bazar area) have been recovered from her possession which was supposed to be handed over to NDB-S cadre.

She was working as a channel of communication between the NDFB-S cadres and over ground worker in that area through her husband. She has been playing a very important role in siphoning off extortion money to the outfit in Myanmar through the OGWs/sympathisers.

Witch hunting rerun in Kokrajhar

After a brief gap, yet another witch hunting incident has triggered shock and anger in Koktajhar where a section of local residents in a remote hamlet assaulted a person who is now undergoing treatment at a hospital. The incident took place on July 18 at Dekadamra the villagers assembled at a public place and flogged Rabiram Narzary alleging witch craft.  Later his family members rushed the 52 year old to the Kokrajhar RNB civil hospital where he is undergoing treatment. Minor girl raped in Kokrajhar

A young  girl was raped by three persons at Banglajhora area under Patgaon police outpost late last evening in Kokrajhar district.An FIR was lodged with police in this regard. One of three culprit was arrested.  Three persons raped, a 12-years-old minor girl forcefully yesterday evening.The incident took place at Bangaljhora village near Jharbari by 7 pm on Saturday. Bodo language in Judicial Services!

The Bodo lawyers of the BTAD demanded inclusion of Bodo language in Assam Judicial Service examination in the state to pave way competitive welfare to the Bodo medium candidates in judicial service examinations. The lawyers alleged that Bodo medium background candidates are deprived from opportunities of absorbing in judicial jobs due to non inclusion of Bodo language in the judicial service examination in the state. Four ultras held in Baksa

Poacher held

 A poacher was arrested along with arms at Mushalpur in Baksa district on Wednesday.    In a joint operation of police and army, the poacher, who was identified as Pretarash Ekka of Mushalpur was arrested.
