NDFB (S) informer held

Police apprehended a suspected over ground worker/sympathizer of NDFB-S identified as Paulina Basumatary 22, wife of a NDFB-S cadre Compounder alias Khaose from No 1 Nandipur village under Kachugaon police station in Kokrajhar district .

Police said Rs 15,000 (extorted from Audung Bazar area) have been recovered from her possession which was supposed to be handed over to NDB-S cadre.

She was working as a channel of communication between the NDFB-S cadres and over ground worker in that area through her husband. She has been playing a very important role in siphoning off extortion money to the outfit in Myanmar through the OGWs/sympathisers.

Candle lighting for Amarnath incident

A candle lighting rally was organized at Kokrajhar in protest against recent attack and killing of Amarnath pilgrims in Jammu & Kashmir by Pakistani militants that claimed that seven peoples and left many injuries. Baneswar Basumatary ailing

Founder president of the All Bodo Students Union(ABSU) and noted writer Baneswar Basumatary is seriously ailing since few months. Basumatary,who is hailing from Koklabari of Baksa district has been ailing since few months. He is now senseless, passing days on bed. He was also one of the general secretary of the Bodo Sahitya Sabha, an apex body of Bodo literary. Basumatary became president of the ABSU in 1967. Several Bodo organisations,including ABSU,Bodo sahitya sabha have extended their wishes for early recovery of Basumatary. Six relief camps opened

A total six relief camps have been opended for the flood affected peoples in Kokrajhar and Chirang districts in last 48-hours as Gaurang, Champamati, Sankosh, Modati, Gurufela,Saralbhanga and Aie rivers are flowing above their danger levels on Tuesday. 56 villages are affected in the flash floods in Kokrajhar and Chirang districts with damaging 150 hectares of crops area. In Kokrajhar, 19,000 peoples are affected in the flood under Gossaigaon and Bagribari revenue circles in the district.
