NDFB (S) informer held

Police apprehended a suspected over ground worker/sympathizer of NDFB-S identified as Paulina Basumatary 22, wife of a NDFB-S cadre Compounder alias Khaose from No 1 Nandipur village under Kachugaon police station in Kokrajhar district .

Police said Rs 15,000 (extorted from Audung Bazar area) have been recovered from her possession which was supposed to be handed over to NDB-S cadre.

She was working as a channel of communication between the NDFB-S cadres and over ground worker in that area through her husband. She has been playing a very important role in siphoning off extortion money to the outfit in Myanmar through the OGWs/sympathisers.

AAKRSU blockade disrupts normalcy

Skill development training concludes

Angawadi workers stag dharna

Hundreds of Angawadi Workers from parts of the Kokrajhar district joined hands in the sit in strike near DC office in Kokrajhar on Friday seeking early withdrawal of agreement of Akhayapatra Foundation for Mid Day Meal implementation, enhance salaries of Angawadi workers 5,000 from 1000 and release of 12 months arrears for the workers.   The strike was organized by Sadou Assam Madhyana Bhajon Karmachari Sanstha, Kokrajhar district unit. Police meet in Chirang

A high police officials from Chirang, Kokrajhar and Bongaigaon district meet was held at police guest house in Chirang district on Thursday. Kula Saikia, DGP (special branch) attended the meet and reviewed the law and order in the districts. Saikia held meeting with SPs of the lower Assam region. Elderly woman murdered in Kokrajhar

An elderly woman was murdered by her son-in-law at Samsingkila Salkonta village under Karigaon police outpost late last night in Kokrajhar district. Death body was identified as Ante Basumatary(50) and body has been brought Kokrajhar for post mortem. According to Biron Basumatary, son of Ante said that his mother was found murdered on Wednesday evening by 6.45pm while she was on way to her house from a bazaar.
