Road communication saw deserted in the BTAD four districts due to 7-hour (seven) motor engine bandh called by ABSU, Peoples Joint Action Committee for Boroland Movement (PJACBM) and NDFB (P) to put pressure government to resume tripartite peace talk with movement groups, create separate Bodoland separate state under Article 2 & 3 of Indian constitution to meet good governance in the region by bringing permanent peace solution.
All kinds of motor engines’ movement saw off due to bandh called, which was started from 7 am in the morning and concluded by 2 pm on the day.
The bandh has been reported peaceful in all four districts of BTAD-Kokrajhar,Chirang,Baksa and Udalguri with road communication deserted since morning.However,road movement along national highway,school van,bazaar,government offices,school,colleges were exempted from the purview of the bandh.
Lawrence Islary,General Secretary,ABSU told that the bandh called to put pressure government to the demand of separate of Bodoland state.He has slammed the BJP led NDA and state alliance government for not taking any step towards Bodoland issue and problems as BJP party had promises to solve Bodoland issues. He has warned to go vigorous mass democratic agitation in coming days if their demand and issues are not meet in earliest manner.
