The United Liberation Front of Asom (ULFA-I) has warned against the steps to eulogize the outside personalities by installing their statues who have downplayed Assam and its people.
In a statement released on Sunday, the outfit’s publicity secretary Aronodoi Dohotia said that the state’s political leaders who have been kowtowing their bosses in the distant Delhi should stop paying homage to the outside heroes. He said Assam has no dearth of heroes to be highlighted.
Eulogizing outsiders would undermine the heroes at home, said the ULFA(I) leader adding questioning the major roads and projects named after Nehru who bad farewell to Assam in his radio speech during the Chinese aggression.
