Caught in an orgy of simmering violence Manipur might come under President’s rule at any moment.

The home ministry is believed to have been closely monitoring the law and order situation on every passing moments in the poll bound north eastern state.

Before going through the report from the governor, the home ministry officials' have been regularly monitoring the real law and order situation in the state where massive economic blockade and counterblockade have thrown normal life out of gear.

Home ministry sources told Assam Times that union home minister has been in touch with chief minister Okram Ibobi Singh and assured him of all help to deal with the situation.

Singh has been very carefully considering the possibility of central rule after the Centre received huge setback in Arunachal Pradesh.

Many tribal organizations in the state have demanded President’s rule alleging total breakdown in the law and order machinery while some others vehemently opposed the move saying that central rule is never the solution to deal with the stinging scene.
