AJYCP spots Nagpur conspiracy in Sanskrit

The Asom Jatiyatabadi Yuba Chatra Parishad (AJYCP) joins the chorus against the move to impose Sanskrit as compulsory subject till Class VII in all schools alleging a well orchastrated  conspiracy being micro managed and monitored from Nagpur.

In a statement issued in Guwahati, president Biraj Kumar Talukdar charged the government with preparing to recruit Sanskrit teachers from outside since the state as of now lacks the required strength.”But we won't allow the outside teachers to be recruited in our schools,” said Talukdar.

He said AJYCP is never opposed to  Sanskrit in the schools since it is the ancient language which needs to be promoted and preserved in the schools and colleges.

“But we do express grave concern over the way the government is in the process to impose the subject in a haste. The decision is too premature in view of the shortage of teaching staffs in hundreds of schools and many of these schools have been running with one teacher,” he said.

In his statement, the AJYCP president questioned the intention behind the move when many schools have been falling short of staff and thousands of TET qualified youths have been waiting for appointment.

He said, “Where the government will get so many Sanskrit teachers to be recruited? This is not Unknown to chief minister Sarbananda Sonowal and his education minister Himanta Buswa Sarma. The conspiracy is being micro managed from New Delhi and Nagpur. Lack of Sanskrit teachers in home would force the government to hire thousands of teachers from outside. “

AJYCP demands an early step to provide adequate teaching staff in all schools apart from free textbooks to the students and recruitment if all TET qualified candidates before making Sanskrit a compulsory in the schools.

Talukdar maintained that the cabinet decision is strange at a time when the government has failed to completely recruit many TET qualified candidates, students hit the streets demanding free text books, many schools have been running with a single teacher not to speak of the shameless bungling in the on going HSLC examinations.
