A three day Youth Festival was concluded at Simbargaon playground on Wednesday in Kokrajhar district. The festival saw huge participants from different parts of the district.
The festival was organized by BPF party for the first time ever in association with Youth BPF and Bodoland Students Union (BSU) of Kokrajhar district unit to provide competition arena among coming up generation as well as bringing of unity and integration in the region.
Several competition events have been organized in the three day programme scheduled, which included cultural, sports, literary on the occasion. A multi-cultural showcase was also organized representing different communities, besides literary competions were held to mark the occasion.
In football, Banargaon block beat Debargaon by 2-0, Salakati block beat Banargaon(46-34) in Kabadi(girl), Debargaon block beat Banargaon(2-1) in Tug of war and Dotma beat Banargaon 2-1 in Volleyball competition.
Rajib Brahma, BTC executive member said that the BPF party has organized the Youth Festival to give competition and integration among different communities in the region. Irrespective of caste, creed and languages are participated in the various programmes in the festival that created amusement among participants and spectators. He said that sport is becoming an attractive arena in today’s moment as sports personals are growing up in the country.
‘We must come forward to the building of sports development and integration so that our generation could gain their life through sports arena’, Brahma said. He also said that the BPF party was founded in 2005 and since then working for the welfare of the common masses in the region.
