Death threat to Zubeen!

Zubeen Garg received death threat in social media when the most popular singer was performing in Dibrugarh on Friday.

A Facebook status warning that the singer would be shot dead from a point blank range went viral in the evening forcing the district authority to step up security in the function were the most popular singer was performing.

The threat was posted in the facebook by some Kai Khaplang alias Tultul Baglary who threatened to shot dead the dinger from.10 metre away from him..

He received the death threat hardly a week after he stepped down from a stage in Guwahati for disallowing to perform in Hindi.

Veteran Congress leaders in Assam on Sunday asked the party workers to work with redouble vigour to help the party regain strength in the next Lok Sabha polls. Simmering tension refuses to die down in Zuhenboto district in Nagaland on Saturday a day after NSCN(K) rebels claimed to have killed at least 10 security personnel at an ambush. But the authorities has rejected the claim saying that only four sustained injury when the rebels ambushed an army convoy of four vehicles in the evening. Security forces have been fanning in some selected pockets in search of the rebels who made the third attack on security forces in the past one month. The security forces neutralized one hard-core Karbi People's Liberation Tiger (KPLT) rebel and apprehended another in a surgical & swift operation on Saturdayb in East Karbi Anglong district of central Assam. The city based senior scribe Anowar Hussain, who was suffering from cancer, expired on Saturday night. Hailed from Ghagrapar locality in Nalbari district, Anowar was working for Asomiya Pratidin as its news editor. The cancer in his mouth was detected last year, following which he was undergoing treatment.
