An Assamese professor in New Delhi has fetched huge pride to the north eastern region when she received a prestigious award in the national capital for her outstanding works for the country and it's people.
She is none other than Dr Arti Barua, who has received the Mother Teresa Global Award for Excellence and Gold Medal for 2017.
Baruah, who teaches Philosophy in the Deshabndhu College, University of Delhi received thr coveted award at a glittering function in IIC , New Delhi attended by former Sikkim Governor Ch. Randhir Singh.
Dr Barua was awarded for her excellent work done which is something extra – ordinary for her country and countrymen and has attained greater excellence in her field of activity and enhanced the image of India.
The next 'Evening with a Doctor' program will be graced by Dr Madan Mohan Reddy, senior consultant on orthopedic surgery from Apollo Hospitals, Chennai. The media clinic will begin at 4 pm on 26 November 2016 and continue till 6 pm. A group of hardcore insurgents from three outfits is believed to have been hiding in a dense jungle along the Assam-Arunachal Pradesh border in Tinsukia district. According to sources, the militants from Myanmar have been camping in the jungle to change the R 500 and R 100o note following the change in the monetary policy. These militants are suspected to have attacked the army convoy in Tinsukia on Saturday where three army men were killed and another struggling with death. Three rocket launcher along with landmine were recovered during the combing operation by the security forces in Pengeri forest.
