The Assam wing of the Students’ Federation of India(SFI) staged symbolic protestat Dighalipukuripar, Guwahati  on June 21  against the UGC’s recent decision to hold NET once in a year. The students’ organization rued that if the UGC implements its recent decision regarding the NET then a large number of students would loss chance to appear in the exam. Presently, the UGC holds NET twice in a year. Moreover, the UGC has decided to decrease pass percentage of the NET from present 15% to 6%. The SFI demanded the UGC to scrape all such decision to secure the greater interest of the students’ community.

Awareness Meeting on water supply in Azara

UN Agenda to address Assam's problems inclusively

The UN Post 2015 Agenda on Sustainable Development would include important points raised by civil societies of Asia and Pacific region, Chandan Kumar Duarah, a journalist and activist from Assam said on Tuesday.
