KOKRAJHAR: BTC chief Hagrama Mohilary laid the foundation stone for construction of 30 bedded Karigaon Community Health Centre (Model Hospital) at Karigaon Maigongpuri in Kokrajhar district on Sunday. The hospital will be constructed under health and family welfare department to provide health services along the greater Karigaon area towards the northern part of Kokrajhar district. Mohilary while extending his wishes for an early construction of the hospital and providing health services in the area said that it is an initiative to facilitate health care for remote areas in Kokrajhar. He said the health department in the state has been emphasizing for a better health service facilities across the state.Assam minister for Socialwelfare department Pramila Rani Brahma was also present on the occasion.

Kokrajhar, May 2: A search operation that began yesterday evening concluded today with the recovery of three bodies from the Beki River near Manas National Park in Baksa district.
The three youths, identified as Deep Saha, Raj Saha, and Abhijit Karmakar, all from Barpeta Road, reportedly went missing after entering the river for a swim on Wednesday evening. Local sources informed that authorities, including the police, SDRF, and local residents, launched a search operation late Wednesday night.
"The bodies were fished out of the river this afternoon after a thorough search," a local source said.

KOKRAHAR: A sense of alarm has gripped the Jharbari area after a timber smuggler was discovered dead in a firing incident during the early hours of the morning in Kokrajhar. The incident occurred along ride no. 1 under the Jharbari range of the Haltugaon forest division in Kokrajhar district, where the smuggler was fatally shot while transporting logs on a cycle from deep within the forest.
