462 new petrol pumps in the state
Kokrajhar: A total 462 new retail outlet(petrol pump) has been setting up across the state to facilitate petrol and diesel distribution services.Necessary spot identification and observation has so far done from Indian Oil Corporation(IOC) to expan retail outlet network expansion in tandem with growth on demand of petrol and diesel.
Speaking the reporters today at a Press Conference held at Kokrajhar Press Club, senior manager and district nodal officer,Kokrajhar of IOC, BK Mahanta told that the private sector undertaking(PSU) of oil marketing companies(OMCs-BPCl,HPCL & IOCL) are undertaking retail outlets network across the state in demand of petrol & diesel in today’s life. Retail sales of petrol & diesel are increasing at the rtae of approximately 8% and 4% per annul(p.a) respectively.
He informed that Assam state is getting new 462 petrol pumps,in which Kokrajhar district itself is getting 12 new petrol pumps. He has emphasized that expansion of retail outlet network(petrol pump) is undertaken by oil marketing companies primarily to meet the growing fuel needs and convenience of customers in emerging markets like upcoming highways,agricultural pockets and industrial hubs.
He said the outlet network in rural,remote and far flung areas are also being expanded with intention of reaching product,predominantly HSD,ensuring quality and correct price to meet the rural agricultural demand and people living in remote areas.
The newly proposed retail outlet network will be generating employment opportunities among society in the state.
‘Oil marketing companies have now issued advertisements inviting applications from prospective candidates for setting up of petrol pumps across the state. The application would be received through on-line and only the selected candidates would be required to produce the documents on time’,Mahanta added.
