The liquor tragedy that struck the state with 200 toll has created no less raucous in the state assembly on Monday leaving the ruling camp red faced. The Opposition cornered the government demanding CBI probe into the incident while the Government allowed the House to discuss the entire opposition.

When the assembly proceedings started, Congress member Rupjyoti Kurmi questioned the absence of health minister Himanta Biswa Sarma from the floor. Later, former Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi blamed it all on the government and demanded a CBI probe into it.

One after another opposition MLAs have slammed the government for failing to ban the loose molasses required to manufacture the illicit liquor and corrupt excise department officials.
