Indian medical association demands fulfillment of commitments by govt

Kokrajhar: The Indian Medical Association (IMA) has demanded fulfilling and solutions of the assurance and commitment given from governments towards the doctors who were on their nationwide strike on Monday across the country. The doctor’s fraternities across the nation observed 24-hour nationwide strike seeking protection and securities as well welfare to the working doctors and punished the involved persons with violence on doctors in Kolkata.

President of Indian Medical Association (IMA),Kokrajhar branch, Dr Debdas Bhowal in an exclusively talking with this Correspondent in Kokrajhar told that the strike of the doctors had called off on Monday evening after a meeting with West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee in Kolkata and she made an assurance to check all incidents like violence on doctors occurred in Kolkata and fulfilling of the demands put from doctor’s fraternities in days to coming.

The CM Banerjee had given commitment for healthy welfare and necessary initiatives to the doctors in the state, and thus Junior Doctors called off the strike.

In Assam, doctor’s fraternities under the banner IMA observed 24-hour strike beginning from 6 am of Monday morning and today concluded by 6 am in protest against the violence on doctors and demanded strict security cover up and welfare to the doctors in the state. Dr Bhowal said that the IMA has been pressing government to provide strong security and enactment of central policy to the protection of doctors in the country.He said that doctor’s fraternities are always want healthy welfare of the patient as well common peoples and thus working to the social uplift. But sometime, we (doctors) face hardships which are not well suited in the environment.He has put demanded proper implementation and welfare to the doctor’s fraternities which were put commitment from governments in coming days.Dr Bhowal also urged government to take stern initiatives against violence on doctors as well atrocities and put healthy welfare to meet healthy living environment across the country.

Along with rest of the state, BTAD districts are all set to publish the final draft of NRC with smooth and healthy environment. KOKRAJHAR: The National Federation of New State (NFNS) has demanded early creation of new smaller states within Indian constitution.  NFNS include  Bodoland, Gorkhaland, Vidharbha, Kuki state, Bundelkhand, Purbanchal and Kari Anglong autonomous state. KOKRAJHAR: At least 16 students hospitalised post consuming  medicines to control worming at Digaldonga in Baksa district on Thursday. KOKRAJHAR: Chirang police apprehended seven persons for illegally carrying Ganja at a checking at Chapaguri national highway late Sunday evening. Police carried out a search operation on Sunday evening along the 31C National Highway at Chapaguri in Chirang district. During the search checking, police detected three bikes coming from Barama of Baksa district in which over 100 kgs of Ganja were illegally brought out. Police seized the Ganja and arrested persons. The arrested persons were identified as Jwngsar Wary, Dwimalu Brahma, Kanaklal Brahma of Kokrajhar district, David Basumatary, Swmkhwr Brahma, Akash Basumatary and Dhananjay Brahma of Chirang district.
KOKRAJHAR: Heartthrob Jubin Garg today visited at Bhotgaon in Kokrajhar to promote his upocoming film Kanchenjongha to be released on 6th September next. KOKRAJHAR: Forest department in Chirang, seized several numbers of tractors and trucks which were carrying illeglly felling sal timbers from Selekaguri, Shantipur, Deosri area under Runikata forest range on Thursday in Chirang district. The seized timbers are kept now at Runikata forest range office. Recently,forest department officials have seized a large number of smuggling timbers at Kachugaon in Kokrajhar district. The seized timbers  are valued at Rs.20. The forest department has been taking stern measures to check timber smuggling in the region and necessary deployments are made so far, said a senior forest official in BTAD.  
KOKRAJHAR: Sangbadik Parishad, Assam of Kokrajhar district unit has decided to organise an workshop on journalism and a medical camp in October in Kokrajhar district. An executive meeting of the parishad was held on Thursday at Kokrajhar Press Club with Hantigiri Narzary, president of the Kokrajhar district unit of the parishad in the chair.
