Arms recovered

KOKRAJHAR: Security forces have recovered large number cache of arms, ammunitions and explosives inside Manas National Park (MNP) under Gavarukundha range near Panbari under Bijni police station in Chirang district on Tuesday morning.

A joint operation was launched on Tuesday evening by Chirang Police in the general area of Gavarukunda inside deep jungles of MNP near Panbari and recovered huge amounts of arms, ammunitions and explosives on a buried condition. Security forces had come successful to trace out the arms with the help Indian Army tracker dog which had led to the spot where arms were buried.

Police suspects the recovery arms belong to NDFB- Saoraigwra faction which were kept buried.

The recovery arms,ammunition and explosives were included nine factory made rifle, 11 country made rifle, 56 ammunitions of 7.62 AK series,10 rounds of 5.56 riffle, 21 ammunitions of  7.62 sniper, ten round ammunitions of  7.62 Pika, 29 ammunitions of 7.62 CTN,f four magazines,98 empty cartridges and 17 kgs explosives (PEK).
