Homen Borgohain speaks at Karunadhara's awareness meet

"No one in Sorrow should  be left alone", said Homen Borgohain, Noted Writer, while he graced as Chief Guest in an awareness programme organised by Karunadhara (an NGO) at J.K Kedia Smriti Bhawan in Hojai on Saturday.

Borgohain said ,"Life is a precious blessing from almighty to help the needy ones  and use it in productive manner for the well being of others , addind  he exhorted everyone to help the underpriveledged ones  as per their capacity for  over all upliftment of the society."

"Money  alone cann't buy happiness, but the works we do for the welfare of the down trodden ones will surely make us happy thereby make our life in true sense  a meaningful one", Borgohain added.

He further highlighted on the significance of Kindness with lots of examples.

The awareness meeting was presided over by Nawazuddin Ahmed, President Karunadhara Hojai unit which was graced along with the Chief Guest by Pratul Phukan, President Karunadhara Central Unit along with many other eminent guests.

During the programme homeage was paid infront of the portrait of Noted Educationist  Subrata Chakraborty, who passed away on October 28 last and a souvenir was released on his life, which was edited by Srimanta Madhav Sarma.


Jayanto Choudhury,Special trainer for Disabled People  was feliciated on this occasion  for his enormous contribution to uplift the life of disabled ones.

Many guests and youths contributed as per their capacity to the NGO for continuing their welfare programmes.


People from all the walks of life attended the awareness meet. The programme was anchored by Anup Kumar Barthakur, Secretary, Karunadhara Hojai Unit.

Notably,  Karunadhara is a non-Government registered Trust dedicating itself for promoting overall well being of persons suffering from physical or mental disability and for enabling financially weak critically ill persons to avail of costly specialised treatment. In addition to providing required financial aid to such needy persons, Karunadhara has also been taking up various measures to develop lalent talent and raise social status of physically and / or mentally challenged persons .
