The 1st Northeast Unsung Heroes Red Carpet social award 2019 is going to be held in Mumbai on November 15. 24 Unsung Heroes of 8 states of North East India will be recognized for their silent contribution to the society. Shri. Bhagat Singh Koshyari, Hon’ble Governor of Maharashtra and Shri Kiren Rijiju, Hon’ble Minister of State (I/c) Youth Affairs & Sports and many other sports personality, Bollywood celeb and Change -Makers of the country will attend the event.

Founder Rebecca Changkija Sema has started the journey with her Home state Nagaland and then in Sikkim, she is quite excited to see her Brain- child growing every year.

Co-organiser Jutikaa Mahanta, who has been working tirelessly for decades in promoting Assam and entire North East in various platform Nationally and Internally is equally excited for the event  “ this is our humble effort towards National Integration and encourage the Unsung Hearoes of our Region in the financial capital of the county.”. Literary Exchange exponent who is also the International Coordinator for Asom Sahitya Sabha says “ Let us uplift each other and grow together. Every community help each other to grow and this is the high time that we all North Eastern must learn and follow it”. The mother of two further ads “being based in Mumbai, I do have a moral responsibility to promote and uplift my land, I try best through my initiative “Bollywood Couch’ which is a platform to promote the aspiring creative talent of Assam and entire North East and now we are all set with our NE Unsung Heroes Red Carpet Social Awards on this Friday- 15th of Nov.”.

When it comes to Assam there 3 are awardees from the state ( we are inviting 3 awardees from each states in these categories : Sports, Education, Art & Culture, Entertainment, Entrepreneurship and Governance ) From Assam we have received more than 15 nominations and our independent  jury have gone through each profile and selected the right candidate for the event.

Our esteem Jury members are Dr. Rupam Sharma. Principal Scientist, CIFE, Mrs . Ireni Akoijam. Technical Director. National Informatics Center. Govt of India . Shri. Samudra Gupta Kashyap , Journalist/Author, Shri . Akashaditya Lama . Film Director /Writer and social activities , O R Shallom Social Worker and community leader.

3 Awardees from Assam are namely: 

  1. Mr. Dibya Jyoti Bhagawati in the category of Sport.
  2. Mr.Dharam Sing Teron : in the category of Art & Literature
  3. Ms Leena Doley : in the category of Governance.

All three awardees have been working silently for decades and contributing substantially towards the community. Mr Bhagawati has been training young sports aspirant of Assam for decades. Similarly, Mr Teron has been working towards promoting Karbi folk and literature. Mr Leena Doley has been contributing not only from her designated chair but going beyond in empowering women of Assam. We congratulate each one them and wish to see them continuing the good job in future as well and inspre many others.

State seeks more forces ahead of final publication of draft NRC

NRC: Supreme Court extends deadline to July 31

NEW DELHI: The Supreme Court on Monday extended by a months its 30 June deadline for the publication of the final National Register of Citizens (NRC) draft. The bench gave the extension after the Centre and the state NRC coordinator agreed to publish it within the new 30 July deadline. A bench of justices Ranjan Gogoi and RF Nariman considered the report of Assam NRC coordinator Prateek Hajela and extended the deadline. Last week, Hajela had said it would not be possible to release the final draft of the NRC on 30 June because of the floods in Cachar, Karimganj and Hailakandi districts in the Barak Valley as well as in parts of Karbi Anglong and Hojai. SC to hear NRC issue today

  NEW DELHI : The much hyped fate of the final draft publication of the National Register of Citizens (NRC) would be decided on July 2 with the Supreme Court expected to deliver its judgement as to the date when the complete draft NRC would be published. Sonowal in cabinet expansion mood!

NEW DELHI: BJP central leadership is understood to have cleared the decks for the Assam cabinet expansion at the end of an hour long meeting between Amit Shah and Sarbananda Sonowal in New Delhi on Friday.  Senior party leaders who refused to be named told Assam Times that Shah and Sonowal finalized the induction of eight new members in the expended cabinet where three sitting ministers would be dropped.  Of the ten new faces AGP and BPF have one each while others are BJP legislators who are expected to take oath in a day or two.  Chief minister Sonowal, however, avoided the media persons, who were waiting outside the official residence if the BJP president.

No dearth of excuse to delay NRC

NEW DELHI: Both Delhi and Dispur were left red faced in Supreme court on Tuesday as the apex court refused to give more time to complete NRC because of the panchayat polls. A division bench of the country’s top court comprising Justice Ranjan Gogoi and Justice RF Narimon asked the NRC authority to ensure that the process to update NRC must not suffer because of the rural body polls. SC asks for affidavit on Rakesh Paul

NEW DELHI: The Supreme court has asked the Assam Government to file an affidavit on the bail petition moved by Rakesh Paul whom police arrested in a new case after he procured bail from the earlier cases.  A division bench of the top court comprising Justice Adarsh Goyal and Justice UULalit who heard the arrested APSC chairman’s bail plea directed the government to file an affidavit to hear it again in the first week of January.

NRC draft by July 31, 2018

Once again the NRC draft is set to miss the deadline. The home ministry on Thursday moved a special leave petition before the Supreme Court asking for permission to extent the deadline by July 31,2018.  The state nodal officer recently submitted a status report before the apex court disclosing that over 1 crore documents have yet to be verified. The court earlier fixed December 31,2017 as the deadline to publish the draft.
