Signature Awards 2008

The decade edition of "Signature Award " instituted by Siganture Training Centre a chain of hair styling and beauty clinic in the Northeast owned and managed by very popular and internationally acclaimed spa beautician Madumita Patwary Saikia was presented in a colourful ceremony at the Srimanta Shankardeva Kalashetra auditorium in Guwahati recently. The event tested the make-up and hairstyle presentation skills of contestants in the glamour world. All together 27 contestants came up with innovative styles and ideas in the Signature Awards 2008 to captivate the judges and audience alike in two rounds — traditional and fantasy — but at the end of it, Mitali Gogoi (Signature Empress 2008), Monalisa Gogoi(Signature Queen) and Maya Dey(Signature Princess) walked away with the top three prizes in respective order. The judges were Bollywood hair designer Lata Khanchandni, Sanjeev Nayar, Assamese cine actor Akashitora, writer Monalisa Saikia and costume designer Mayuri Barua.

The awards show, organized annually by Guwahati's leading beauty care establishment Signature Training Centre, was punctuated with different cultural items and two special exhibition rounds by Lata Khanchandni and Madhumita Saikia- the MD of Signature Training Centre herself who is a name to reckon with in the beauty industry of Assam who craves for creating a platform for the aspiring beauty consultants of the region.

The winners were given air tickets to Kolkata, gift hampers besides free annual subscription of magazines Style Speaks, Hemanta Madhusmita Saikia(HMS) Publication's Saparibar (Nepali and Assamese) and Soundarya Aru Swasthya. The winners will also get a chance to participate and showcase their skills at a national event in New Delhi and then at an international event in Bangkok.
