The National Highway 31 was blocked on Wednesday for three hours at Kendukona under Kamrup district by about two thousand people of the area under the banner of "Mathauri Punar Nirman aru Ban Sahajya Dabi Samittee, Puthimari". The protest event was started at 9 am and finished at 12 pm. The programme was supported by AGP, BJP, CPI(M), ARMCA, PLP, AUDF, AJYCP, AASU, SFI and various local oraganisations. They demanded Immediate repair of the embankment of the Puthimari river, rehabilitation of flood victims, sufficient supply of flood relief, compensation to all the victims, repair of road and bridges affected by the flood and permanent solution of flood problem of the Puthimari river.
Ananta Deka, MLA,Rangia, Subharam Das, President, Kamrup district AASU committee, Dhiraj Rajbangshi, President, Rangia Sub-Divisional AASU, Hareswar Barman,Ramesh Bhatta, Nausad Ali, Umesh Kalita, Ajit Ch. Kalita and many others spoke in the protect meeting. Officers of Civil Administration and Police department immediately rushed to the area. A memorandum was submitted by the people of the area to the Chief Minister through the ADC, Kamrup. It is to be noted that about 200 villages of Rangia Sub-division were affected by the flood of the Puthimari river in the last month.

The troops of Red Horns of Division of the Indian Army deployed at Changsari under Kamalpur PS in Kamrup district has recovered today 70 Kgs of explosives from Changsari. It is to be noted that the name of coke industry comes under high air polluting industries of the world. Coke industries are mainly engaged in purifying coal.
