Tezpur : On 25th July,2007 All Assam Hills Tribal Council had organised a meeting in Sonitpur District in village Missamari. Benudhar Tumung, President and Nripen Ingti General Secretary of All Assam Hills Tribal Council was present in the meeting. In the meeting the Sonitpur District Committee has form to work for the Hills People living in plains. The new unit was formed with Chikari Terang as President and Sarching Teron as General Secretary.All Assam Hills Tribal Council is Non Government, non religious, non political organisation. The Head Office is at Guwahati. The Organisation is working for the upliftment of Hills people living in Plains.

First, tribals have to work hard.
Tribals are not competent farmers. So, Bangladeshis are prospering in our agriculture sector.
Look at the agricultural produce of Kharupetia near Mangaldoi town. Bangladeshis have taken over agriculture. They are not only good at growing crops and vegetables but also know to sell them.
What is the use of forming so many tribal organisations when the ground reality is lack of work culture among tribals?

Suspected Block Widow militants have killed one more person near Haflong on Friday morning to make the sutuation more volatile. According to information, one ZP Roia was killed near Haflong at around 10-45 morning. Roia is said to be the president of the Beitei apex body. The All Assam students Union has blamed it all on Delhi and Dispur for the uncomfortable situation of the Numligarh Refinery which is running a huge Rs 500 crore loss forcing it to hike the price and petrol and diesel.AASU leaders here say the government is doing precious little to resolve the problems of the refinery proposed in the historic Assam Accord, 1985. Violence in north North Cachar hills district has taken a grim turn on Thursday with the killing of ten truckers at Umransgu all of whom belong to the Vinoy Cement Factory.According to information, the incident took place at Panimur at round 1:30pm today when the suspected DHD(J) militants forced these to halt and set these on fire after killing the drivers and helpers. Altogether four people died when an ambulance collided its head on a truck at Milanpur Chowk in Mangaldoi las on late Wedesday night. The deceased have been identified as Antony Mushhary, Lucia Mushhary, Suraj Biswakarma and Basat Biswakarma.
