Brutal Double Murder in Bokajan’s Nambor Tea Estate: Couple Killed After Being Tied and Thrown Into Pit, Three Children Severely Injured

A shocking case of brutal violence has rocked the Nambor Nadi Tea Estate area under Borpathar Police Station in Assam’s Bokajan subdivision. An unidentified group of assailants allegedly attacked a family late last night, leaving three children grievously injured and their parents dead in a chilling act of cruelty.

According to local sources, the attack took place at the home of Jullo Munda in the Munda Basti area of the tea estate. The assailants severely injured Jullo’s two daughters — Sita Munda (13) and Meera Munda (11) — as well as his 9-year-old son, Shankar Munda. In a horrifying turn of events, the attackers then abducted Jullo Munda and his wife Panchami Munda, as confirmed by young Shankar.

The injured children were initially treated at the Sarupathar Hospital and later referred to the Kushal Konwar Civil Hospital in Golaghat for advanced medical care.

Meanwhile, a search operation was launched for the missing couple. Led by Bokajan Sub-Divisional Police Officer Rustamraj Brahma and officers from Borpathar Police Station, the team combed the nearby areas of the tea estate. By late afternoon, police recovered the lifeless bodies of Jullo and Panchami from a disused coal pit not far from their home.

Preliminary investigation suggests the couple was brutally beaten, bound hand and foot, placed inside sacks weighted with stones, and thrown into the pit. Police believe they were murdered before being dumped. The recovery was made in the presence of the Bokajan Sub-Divisional Magistrate.

The bodies have been sent to Diphu Medical College Hospital for postmortem, scheduled for tomorrow.

So far, the motive behind this horrific attack remains unclear. Authorities have not ruled out personal enmity, land disputes, or other possible triggers. A full investigation is underway to identify and apprehend the perpetrators. Police have assured that no stone will be left unturned in uncovering the truth behind this heinous crime.

The incident has sent shockwaves across the region, and residents are calling for swift justice and enhanced security in the vulnerable tea estate areas.
