Assam's Bhoot Jolokia has become famous as the worlds hottest chilly a few months back. Guinness Book of World Records has awarded this title to our very own red chili and the media all across has been covering this event widely. But almost all reports in English named this chilly as “ghost chilly” translating the name directly from Assamese. In Assamese “bhut” stands for “ghost”.Bhot actually means people of Bhutan. Awarded chili is Bhot Jolokiya not Bhut Jolokiya In Assam everyone knows it. Some journalist made this mistake sometime back and it is continuing

Thanks to Mr. Neog for the report. Regarding the name of 'Bhoot jalakia' re(?)search should be done how this variety of chilly got this name. Hope to get feedback. Would like to know details about this variety.

Actually the so called bhoot chilly is entirely found in the north east region of India. So better not to comment on the name or whatsever. There is no doubt that it has got great quality .so dear, if u really want to know then contect me..

BTW..... its total bullsh** that its BHOT JOLOKIA.. its actually "bhoot jolokia" and it means ghost chilly in assamese because of the hot spicy taste it produces. and crossword jolokia is pronounced as jo-lo-ki-aa
One hardcore ULFA cadre died at an encounter with Army in Dibrugarh district's Kakopathar area on Monday. Two ULFA militants were left killed at a joint encounter of police and army in Silikhapukhuri area of North Lakhimpur district early in the morning today. Acting on a tip off, police and Army's Bihar Regiment conducted a raid in the area at 4-30 in the morning. A powerful blast that rocked Doomdooma town just before a while has left one person dead and several injured. According to information, the blast took place at around 4:20 pm in the afternoon at the Daily Bazaar. The injured people have been rushed to the nearby Doomdooma Civil Hospital. High level police and civil officials have reached the spot and cordoned off the area.
