Gogoi visits NC hills

Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi says the government would strictly deal with the law and order situation in the North Cachar even by deploying more security forces in the hills district. During his visit to the trouble torn district on Friday, the Chief Minister has reviewed law and order situation with top ranked civil and police officials in the hills district and announced that the trains would resume its services soon. He also visited Maibong and talked to the affected people and announced a Rs 3 lakh ex-gratia each to the family members of those left dead in the incidents.

Respected people of Assam, I don't know why we are neglected by government. Tarun gogoi has announce 3 lakhs for those victims who where killed in the recent violence in N C HIlls.. but we don't want money sir, but peace and political solution..the government neither is negotiating or taking stern action against the the culprits..WHY? Are u we not the citizens of ASSAM? ARE we not Citizen of India.? I really wonder why the government has no interest in cleaning the mess.. the culprits r getting stronger and stronger as each day pass..the militants of both tribes are unwanted..government should take action against them. or should we understand that you dont care..if it is then it will be problem for both of us ..as we general citizen will wipe out all the enemies may be militants or the government..till we live..thank u rohit

The first serious step is to talk with DHD, the cease fire group. This group is in ceasefire for more than 9 years without any talk . The leaders of DHD cease fire are to be blame more than the other fraction as the other fraction came out as the Nunisa group has not talk with any government. The people who are in the ceasefire designated camp they are having a good time with collecting tax apart from some package from the government.The congress government would never want to talk as they will need the support from the situation to come to power again as the condition of the congress is not good now in N C Hills.

Mysterious blast in Lahwal; 1 killed 11 injured

One died and eleven others have been left injured at an accidental blast at an aluminum factory in Lahwal in Dibrugarh district. According to information, the blast took place at around 12-15 but the reason has yet to be ascertained. Poaching: Sonowal seeks centre’s intervention

In a statement released here, he expressed grave concern over the continuing poaching cases and demanded immediate intervention of environment minister S Raghupathi saying the Assam government has been failing to protect the Kaziranga National Park. Mr Sonowal observed that that the state forest department is busy in mudslinging instead of taking steps to check poachings in the national park.

Poaching: AASU dharna in front of KNP

Hundreds of AASU activists are staging demonstrations on Thursday in front of the Kaziranga National Park alleging the park authorities’ failure to protect the rhinos and other animals from poachings which have been a regular features these days. They, further demand forest minister Rockybul Hussain’s resignation saying he has no moral right at a time when a good number of rhinos have been killed during his regime.

Encounter in Nambor forest: 2 KNLF cadres killed

Two Karbi Longri National Liberation Front (KLNLF) militants have been killed in an encounter with Army in the Nambor Reserve Forest in Golaghat district in Assam on Thursday. According to information, the militants were caught in a fierce fighting with the 66 Field Regiment jawans in the Forest areas. An AK-56 rifle and a grenade were recovered from the slain militants. Security forces are continuing operations in the area. The militants have yet to be identified.

Barama still tense

Situation still is remaining tense in Barama following the killing of Bodo leader Babul Swargiary by unidentified miscreants on Sunday. According to information, Bharat Ramchiari, a leader of the BPPF youth wing and a loyalist of Hagrama Mohilary, was behind the incident. RComm to provide CDMA service in Northeast

The Reliance Communications has received government nod to provide CDMA services under the existing Unified Access Service Licences in the entire north eastern region. The Ministry of Communications and Information Technology has granted in-principle permission to its subsidiary Reliance Telecom in this regard, RComm said in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange. The RTL would offer CDMA services also in addition to its existing GSM services in Assam and Northeast service areas.
