Union Minister of Communication & Information Technology Shri Thiru A. Raja flagged off the commercial service of First India Post Freighter Aircraft for North East. The aircraft was handed over to I.M G Khan, Secretary of Postal India on the occasion of inauguration of the first India post freighter aircraft for Northeast on 29-08-07 at Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport, Guwahati.

"In order to improve its mail delivery and transmission services in North-East, the Department of Post has inducted a dedicated freighter aircraft for servicing the North East," I M G Khan, postal secretary said.
