Senior Professor of AMCH is still beyond Control

The senior doctors and professors of the Assam Medical College Hospital, Dibrugarh are still beyond control of the State Govt. Although the state health minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarmah has trying his best to improve the deplorable condition of the health department, due to hidden power of the corrupt officials and doctors the ongoing mess is still going on severely.

Being an attendant of a patient of Medicine Ward II of AMHC, from 29th August to 8th September 2007, it has come to my notice that the newly constructed medicine unit's building which was opened by the Chief Minister of Assam Mr. Tarun Gogoi on last 2nd August 2007 has fulfilled a great demand of the people.

Bribery in AMCH: Unfortunately the patients are bound to give bribe to the ward-boys and other 4th grade employees even for a urine bag, cotton & carrying charge for trolley etc. Without bribe no one can take any service from the 4th grade employees of the AMCH. It is known by the Nurses & Senior Doctors also unable to control them.

For the lack of proper drainage system the surgical ward III of the AMCH has worsened during heavy rains and creating artificial flood like situation.
