The bid to boost the sense of brotherhood among the people of Assam and Nagaland gets a good response on Friday in Merapani when a public meeting vows to resume friendship among them.
Thousands of people from both the states hold a public meeting in Merapani where the speakers stressed friendship to end the conflict that have been confronting the people in the interstate border areas.
Organized by the Peoples’ Committee for Peace Initiative in Assam (PCPIA), the meeting resolved a strong movement against the government to end the decade old Assam-Nagaland border dispute.
The campaign began on Friday in Guwahati at a meeting attended by the representatives of civil societies from both Assam and Nagaland.
