Adya-shradha of Bhimkanta Buragohain held at Charaidew


The Adya-Shradh of the political adviser of ULFA Bhimkanta Buragohain, popularly known as Mama, was organised at Charaidew, Sivasagar district. Mama died on December 19 at his home at Dhola, Tinsukia. The Vice-Chairman of ULFA Pradip Gogoi and social worker Lakhi Buragohain, garlanding and lighting lamp at the mausoleum of “Mama”, situated some distance away from the graveyard of Charaidew.


Religious prayers held in presence of huge gathering of people and pro-talk ULFA cadres. A reminiscence meeting was also held in this occasion. Chairman Aravindra Rajkhowa of Pro-talk ULFA fraction has attended Mama’s Adya-Shradh at Sipajhar.

The Assam government will sit in talks with KMSS, TMPK, AJYCP and AASU in Dispur on Thursday to fine out an amicable solution to the mega dam deadlock that has resulted in a paralyzing deadlock in Lakhimpur and Dhemaji districts. Polling for 26-member Karbi Anglong Autonomous District Council concluded on Wednesday afternoon with a moderate turnout. Security forces on Tuesday arrested an anti-talk NDFB hardcore cadre during a joint operation in Kokrajhar district and seized huge cache of arms ammunition from him. According to sources, acting on a tip-off, the joint team nabbed the insurgent in the wee hours at Athiabari area under Kokrajhar police station.
