Shoot out near Sivasagar police station

Unidentified person shot Shankar Ballabh Sarmah, owner of Classic Wine shop at K.P. Chariali of Sivasagar town, on Thursday night. Sharma was admitted at hospital under serious condition. This incident creates panic and sensation among the citizens of the town. The shop was at a distance of half kilometer from the Sivasagar Police station.

One Babul Gogoi (12) died in a mishap at Santak-Gorchuk, Simoluguri on Saturday. The mishap occured when the deceased was collecting money for a Bihu Sonmilon, organised locally at Kenduguri. The boy with his friends was collecting of money from vehicles plying on the Romoni Ali, which connects Simoluguri and Naginimora. When they tried to stop a dumper coming towards Simoluguri who refused to stop and the members tried to stop the vehicle forcefully. According to eye witness, the deceased climbed up on the vehicle to stop it. After runing few distance the vehicle slipped away from the road and the deceased came under the Vehicle and died on the spot.

Foundation stone of anti-erosion protection scheme at Dikhow river, near Achala Pathar-Dihingia Gaon, was laid down by Rajib Luson Pegu, Water Resource Minister of Assam. The total estimate for this scheme is Rs.6.80 crore. According to the technical specification, 500 meters dyke with modern geo-tube technology and 1300 meters embankment will be constructed under this scheme.
