Sadhana Das passes away

Sadhana Das (69 years), wife of a benevolent social worker of Jorhat Jiten Das has left her mortal body on 21st June, 2007 at Dispur Hospital, Guwahati. She has left behind her husband, her only son Mr. Jyotimoi Das and her two daughters along with many other relatives.

Corona virus spectre: Dispur tightens control measures

Guwahati: Responding to the corona visus scare with a slew of transmission control measures, the Assam government on Sunday announced closure till March 29 of all educational institutions, movie halls, gyms and swimming pools. This is in addition to suspension of all official public programmes and ban on prayer meets, bhaonas etc., announced earlier. HM Shah: No ILP for Assam

Union Home Minister Amit Shah reportedly, has said today that Assam will not be brought under the purview of the Inner Line Permit system . As per reports the Home Minister told a delegation from Meghalya that the Centre has no plan to bring Assam under the ILP system.
