Priyanka Das has secured admission in the Master's program in Ecole Polytechnique, Paris with two scholarships covering tuition and living expenses. An outstanding student all throughout, currently she is pursuing BSc with Physics Honours from St Stephen's College, Delhi. She was all round performer in Class-XII from The Mother's International School, New Delhi. She is a good artist and can speak French.

Ecole Polytechnique is renowned for its four-year undergraduate/graduate Master's program called the Ingénieur program which attracts the strongest students from the famously selective entrance exam with a broad scientific education, and opens the way for many of them to careers in positions of influence in government, industry, finance, and research.

Priyanka is one of the first Assamese students to get admitted into this famous institute which is quite high in world rankings. She is the daughter of Manoj Kr Das, DGM in NEDFi and Dr Ajanta B Das, Sr Medical Officer in Delhi Health Service.

Ecole polytechnique actually runs a masters in association with certain universities - do not think it is worlds top master programme.

Janak Jhankar Narzari to receive Pranab Baruah Artist Award 2012

The Pranab Baruah Artist Award 2012 will be conferred upon eminent sculptor Janak Jhanhkar Narzari on May 19 at a ceremony at Vivekanada Kendra, Guwahati. The award comprises of a recitation, a memo, copies of artist Pranab Baruah’ art-work and cash of rupees 25,000. Sparrows buy home in Guwahati

While rapid urbanization has taken a toll on the population of tiny sparrows in the cities all over the world, the picture in Guwahati -- the capital city of Assam-- is different. Air turbulence damages film equipment in Jet airways

Beware of Jet Airways. In yet another case of gross negligence, the ground staff of the Jet Airways has reportedly damaged the filming equipment of a journalist who landed on 30th of July at the Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport in Guwahati from Mumbai. The journalist was on a visit to cover the Assam flood situation from an international news agency of repute. He said that the ground staff admitted the fault in black and white immediately. Court to tackle menace of ccorruption
