AGP activists in large number staged protest in Nagaon demanding stern action against Padma Hazarika a day after the party suspended the legislator for intentionally got his vote cancelled in the Rajjya Sabha polls.

The regional party workers thronged the party office in the town and burnt Hazarika’s the effigy demanding more stern action against the MLA alleging his conspiracy to lower the party image.

BJP suspends senior Nagaland leader

Nagaland receives no instruction from EC

KOHIMA: Nagaland state election authority has not received any instruction from the Election Commission 24 hours after all major political parties agreed not to contest the upcoming assembly polls slated for February 27 alleging the Centre's failure to resolve the main political problem. According to state election department sources, the authority was aware of the decision and they passed the message to the Election Commission. Bail for Matang Sinh in chit fund scam

NEW DELHI: Finally Matang Sinh procured bail three years after CBI arrested the former Union minister in the chit fund scam. A bench of the Calcutta High Court on Monday granted conditional bail to Sinh asking him to appear before the CBI officials once in a week. The media baron would be able to leave Kolkata only with prior permission from the high court.
