"Lawless Country—or Lawless Citizens?”: Gemini Loriak’s Viral Video Exposes Public Hypocrisy

Arunachal Pradesh law teacher Gemini Loriak has shaken the internet with a viral classroom talk that cuts deep into India’s collective conscience. In her fiery remarks, she dismantles the stereotype of India as a “lawless country,” declaring that it is not the absence of laws but the refusal of citizens to follow them that creates chaos.

Loriak points to everyday hypocrisy: bribing to bypass queues, fastening seatbelts only when police are in sight, dismissing domestic violence as a “private matter,” normalizing harassment, and celebrating VIP culture while preaching equality.

Quoting the Constitution—Article 14 on Equality, Article 21 on the Right to Life with Dignity, and Article 21A on Free Education—she exposes the irony of citizens demanding rights while conveniently ignoring their duties. “Discrimination is banned, yet racism thrives. Education is free, yet undervalued. The law gives you dignity, yet you erode it with your own actions,” she says.

Her blunt words go beyond the classroom, challenging both stereotypes about the Northeast and the moral complacency of a nation. Loriak’s message is unflinching: India doesn’t lack laws—it lacks the courage of its people to respect them.
