Arun Sarma files nomination

Former MP Dr Arun Sarma filed his nomination papers in Nagaon as AGP candidate for the upcoming Lok Sabha polls from Koliabor on Friday.

Dr Sarma, the three time MP of the party was taken to the Deputy Commissioner’s Office in Nagaon at a huge procession led by president Prafulla Kumar Mahanta, Gunin Hazarika, Lachit Bordoloi and Keshab Mahanta where he filed his nomination papers before the returning officer at 12-30 in the afternoon.

The papers would be scrutinized on Saturday and the last date for withdrawal of nomination is slated for March 23. The polling will take place on April 7.
