PCDR unit formed

Kokrajhar district unit of the Peoples Co-ordination for Democratic Right(PCDR), a non-political organisation of various organisation and communities was formed with Suraj Mushahary as co-ordinator on Thursday at a meeting held at Banargaon community hall in Kokrajhar.

It was organised jointly by All Bodo Students Union(ABSU),Bodoland Peoples Progressive Front(BPPF),United Peoples Democratic Front(UDPF),Peoples Joint Action Committee for Bodoland Movement(PJACBM) and NDFB(P), was chaired by Lawrence Islary,president of Kokrajhar dsitrict unit of ABSU.

The district unit of right was formed with involving various community organisation as member and held discussion on the issue of bringing peace and ahrmony among different communities.

Represetatives from Bengali Tiger Force,BTC Region, AGSU,Nath Jogi Sanmilani,AASAA,Adivasi Cobra Militant of Assam, United Muslim Minority cell, All Assam Gorkha Sanmilani were participated in the meeting.

Mentioned be made that central committee of the Peoples Co-ordination for Democratic Right(PCDR) was formed on July 24 last with Rwn Gwra Narzary,ABSU adiviser as chief convenor at Bodofa cultural comples in Kokrajhar.

Anundaram Borooah award distributed

A total of 886 students were given away Laptop, Computers under Anundaram Borooah award among first division passed out students of HSLC examination at a function held at Basic Training Centre today in Kokrajhar. In three sub-divisions of Kokrajhar district, 517 in Kokrajhar, 286 in Gossaigaon and 101 students in Parbatjhora subdivision passed in first division in the district in the last 2015 HSLC examination.  BTC deputy chief Kampa Borgoyary graced as chief guest on the occasion.  BTC executive member Doneswar Goyary, Madhav Prasad Sarma, Kokrajhar deputy commissioner, Rabisangkhor Borgoyary, BTC education director were prominent attendees on the function. 

Dotma HSS celebrated Platinum Jubilee

The Platinum Jubilee celebration of Dotma Higher Secondary School was concluded today after three-day long programme scheduled at school ground in Kokrajhar.  An open meeting was held on the concluding day today with Garga Mahan Das, president of celebration committee and Dotma Revenue circle officer in the chair.  The Dotma HS school was established in 1938 and dedicated towards building educational environment in the area.  BTC deputy chief Kampa Borgoyary graced as chief guest. BPF election rally at Kokrajhar

BPF party has started it's campaign for assembly election in BTAD region holding election rally in various constituencies in the region.  A grand mass gathering for party candidate Rabiram Narzary for Kokrajhar west constituency was held at Bamwnkhura ground on Friday in Kokrajhar district. Rabiram Narzary, party candidate for the constituency addressing the gathering said that he is the party candidate for the constituency as party acknowledged him  to contest election. Enrollment weekend

The Chirang  district election officer has decided to organise a special enrollment weekend camps as a part of continuous updation of electoral roll. All the assigned AEROs and BLOs of 31 Sidli (ST) LAC  will organise camps two days camps at their concerned polling stations and issue form 6, 7, 8 and 8(A) to the left out eligible persons and collect those forms back from them for enrollment in the electoral roles. 

NDFB-S cadre, linkman arrested

Security forces have claimed to arrest a hard core cadre OF NDFB-S and link man from Bamungaon area under Sidli police station in Chirang district late last evening.  Getting a tiptop information about presence of militant cadres in the area, a joint team of police and army launched a operation and apprehended hard core cadre of NDFB-S and link man from Bamungaon area late last evening.  The cadre was identified as W Gol@ Gangaraj Wary and linkman was Kalicharan Brahma.  Wary joined the militant outfit in 2012, was trained in Myanmar. Blankets distributed in Kokrajhar

A total of 12,179 blankets were distributed among beneficiaries of Kokrajhar east  at a programme held at Basic Training Centre in Kokrajhar today.  Former minister and Kokrajhar east MLA Pramila Rani Brahma, Madhav Prasad Sarma, Kokrajhar Deputy Commissioner gave away the blankets, which were distributed under Chief Ministers' special scheme, 2015-16 from Handloom department.  Brahma, in her speech said that the blanket have been distributed among needy beneficiaries of the constituency.  "It will be benefitted for the poor and needy citizens among society. Chirang district joined the rest of the country in celebrating the 67th Republic Day on Tuesday. It was celebrated in a befitting manner at Kajalgaon parade ground.
