The post mortem conducted at the Silchar Medical College has confirmed that the duo had committed suicide.
Sources told Assam Times that the report received on Saturday night has clearly said that the girls had died of asphyxia as a result of suicidal hanging.
The report has clear mention that there was no evidence or sign of any sexual assault or intercourse.
The family members have not lodged any complaint on the incident after a section of the villagers found the bodies hanging on a tree with the two ends of a same rope at a dense forest bordering Bangladesh.
The girls had gone missing after school on Thursday. While one girl was in Class VIII, the other was in Class IX.
