The 12 hour long NDFB sponsored bandh ended on Wednesday eveinng disrupting normal life in BTAD areas. NDFB called for the paralyzing bandh demanding unconditional release of DR Nabla. The response was partial. It had hardly any impact in some pockets.
Roads in some pockets of BTAD areas wore a desert look while the shops and markets have refused to open in the morning when the drown to dusk bandh began at 5 in the morning. The bandh call virtually dampen the festive season on Wednesday a day after the Durga puja got underway.
NDFB information and publicity secretary, B Najib has asked the government to release its president D R Nabla unconditionally.
The outfit called it unfortunate that the NDFB leader was rearrested in the run up to the crucial tripartite talks in New Delhi acting on a wrong report by Dispur and TADA court.
