 Security forces are believed to have got the vital lead on the recent Adivasi massacre after they captured seven dreaded NDFB(S) rebels in Kokrajhar on Friday.

Interrogation is going on to extract more confession on the gory attack where at least 75 Adivasi innocent people lost their lives in Kokrajhar and Sonitpur on December 23.

They were caught during an operation by Army troops of 21 Division under 4 Corps and Kokrajhar Police in Ripu forest of Kokrajhar.

According to sources, the arrested rebels include Mathinga and another trained NDFB (S) terrorist. They were part of the action team involved in the carnage.

Motor vehicle association warns for non-cooperation in election

The owner and members of the Motor Vehicles in Kokrajhar has warned to take non-cooperation during ensuing Assam assembly election in protest against non-payment of 32 crores of hire charge bills and previous bills of vehicles, which are pending for a long time in the district. The Election Observer for Expenditure for 31-Sidli (ST) LAC Jaginder Singh, IRS on Tuesday arrived at Kajalgaon in Chirang district. BJP leader quits

Former president of Kokrajhar district unit of Bharatiya Janata Party, Binati Bala Basumatary resigned from her party membership on Monday.  Basumatary submitted her resignation letter to the state party president citating personal reason . She was Kokrajhar district BJP president for 2011-2015, who had gained strength of the party through her strong leadership in the district. Basumatary's quit of the party ahead assembly election would draw a set back party strength in the Kokrajhar.
