11 teachers discharged

As many as eleven teachers were discharged from examination duty for their negligence of duties and responsibility, besides 5 students have been expelled in the ongoing HSLC examination in today’s’ General Science( G Sc) examination in Kokrajhar district.

Eleven teachers who were engaged on duty were discharged including two teachers from Gaurang High school centre under Kokrajhar sub-division and nine teachers from Silbari Public High school centre under Parbatjhora sub-division. The teachers were Dhruba Nath of Karigaon High School,Sonarsing Brahma of Jainary High School in Kokrajhar sub-division; Rafikul Islam of Jalabila HS School,Parmeswar Barman of Silbari Public High School, Abdul Gaffar of Murabari High School, Abdul Halim Sarkar of GUMB High School,Safiur Rahman of Jalabila HS School, Ashok Kumar Shil Sarma of Murabari High school, MA Motif of silbari Public High School,Joynal Abedin of Salaria High school and Ainal Haque of Simlakuti High school in Parbatjhora sub-division.

J Brahma,Inspector of Schools of Kokrajhar district informed that the teachers were not performed well during the duty and discharged them from duty and five students were also expelled for taking unfair means on the examination.

The United People’s Party(UPP) candidate  for Kokrajhar east Pratibha Brahma filed nomination papers to the Returing Officer at DC office in Kokrajhar on Monday. With extending support to the United People's Party ahead scheduled Assam assembly election on April 11 next, Rafikul Sheik, vice president of Kokrajhar district committee of AIUDF joined in UPP at a party meeting at Fakiragram under Kokrajhar west LAC in Kokrajhar district on Sunday.  Sheik along with his party supporters joined the party in the presence of huge party supporters and extended supports to the party.  'His joined the UPP party will blow a setback to the AIUDF party', said a political analyst.   

NDFB-S ultra held

Security forces apprehend a NDFB(S) cadre from Basabil area under Gossaigaon PS on Sunday in Kokrajhar district. Based on information about the presence of the militant outfit cadres in the area, a joint team of police and army launched an operation where a listed cadre of Gossaigaon platoon of the NDFB(S) was arrested along with arms. He was identified as Sanjay Narzary of Borsabil village. A pistol, two round ammunition was recovered from him.

The Bodoland People’s Front (BPF) has left three constituencies- Sorbhog, Rangia and Bhawanipur to the Bharatiya Janata party (BJP), its ally party.
