Dispur opposes SNA shifting

Dispur will not allow the Centre to shift the North East Centre of Sangeet Natak Akademi from Guwahati to Agartala.

Admitting the Centre’s move, cultural affairs minister Bishmita Gogoi informed the assembly on Thursday that Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi has already written to Prime Minister Narendra Modi to reconsider the decision.

Apart from it, the chief minister said has already taken up the matter with Union minister for cultural affairs.

She told the assembly that she recently met SNA Secretary they talked of an interim arrangement at Srimanta Sankardeva Kalakshetra society.

She said that the state government has also agreed to arrange suitable plot of land for establishment of permanent North East Centre of Sangeet Natak Akademi as well as Sattriya Kendra.
