Face the consequences: Dr Gohain

A huge public convention in Guwahati on Sunday warned the government of dire consequences if it retains anti people policies and resorts to dirty politics to spoil the real objective of an updated NRC.

Addressing the day long convention, noted intellectual Dr Hiren Gohain said the governments both in Delhi and Dispur have been adopting anti people policies to force the common people to bear the brunt.

"The anti people policies are responsible for the non stopped suicide of the farmers. The ruling class further has been trying to foment trouble in the society for striking advantage thereof," said Dr Gohain.

Other speakers in the KMSS-sponsored convention said that a section of the political parties has been trying to confuse the people when the process to update the NRC is going.
