Army jawans had a narrow escape in Chirang district when suspected NDFB(S) militants lobbed a powerful grenade on Friday. The incident took place in the wee hours at the Panbari army camp located in Chirang where one of the jawans sustained injury to be rushed to the Army Base Hospital at Basistha in Guwahati. CBI is believed to have found some startling facts on the multi crore Saradha scam when it raided Himanta Biswa Sarma, Anjan Dutta, Sadananda Gogoi and Shankr Baruah. The Assam government will improve infrastructure at the Assam-Nagaland border outposts. Security forces deployed there would get sophisticated equipment. This was what a crucial meeting chaired by chief secretary JS Khosla decided hours after two more bodies were found after the violence along the Nagaland border which took the toll to 11. The meeting decided to repair the 81 border outposts and provide additional infrastructure like barracks, fencing, bunkers and facilities for water and sanitation. Police recovered two decomposed bodies from Uriamghat area along the inter-state border, taking the toll in the violence to 11. According to information, the decomposed bodies were buried. They were identified to be of Robet Kaso (40) and Balu Ghatowar (35). On the other hand, over 5,099 people living in relief camps have returned home. Of the 14 relief camps, three have been closed so far.
