Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi is leaving for China on a seven-day official visit with a view to boosting commercial ties with the neighbouring country. According to information, Gogoi is set to visit several areas to get first hand information about the development taking place in China in sectors like progressive farming, tourism, vocational training institutions, bamboo cultivation and bamboo-based industries. He is scheduled to visit the Xier hydel power plant and exchange views with Indian students studying in Dali University in Kunming. Gogoi is also schedule visit the Yunnan Academy of Social Science besides holding series of meetings with leaders of the Yunnan provincial party and their ambassadors and ministers.
