Gold medalist Laimwn Narzary feted
BTC deputy chief Kampa Borogoyary and wel wishers accorded warm welcome and felicitated Laimwn Narzary, gold medalist in the World School Athletics Championship recently held in Wuhan, PR in China at a function held at SAI centre in Saturday in Kokrajhar.
Narzary played in the event of High Jump under 18 years Boys and Girls category of the championship and scripted gold medal for India as well as BTC of Assam state.
BTC sports and youth welfare department organised a felicitation function to Laimwn Narzary.
Borogoyary, sports organiser association and villagers from native village of Langdangpara of Fakiragram felicitated with bunch of flower, traditional Aronai and gifts in the presence of sports fans and publics.
BTC sports and youth welfare department announced gold medalist Laimwn Narzary as Bodoland Kungri(Bodoland Princess), who won gold in the event of High Jump in the ISF-World School Athletics Championship (under 18 years Boys & Girls) held at Wuhan PR in China from June 27 to July 2,2015.
Borogoyary urged the sports budding to be more dedicated in the sports field.
BTC executive member Doneswar Goyary has announced cash 2 lakh as cash award from council administration winning gold medal and glorious step in the region performing best spirits in the sports. The council will confer the cash award on August 15 next, Goyary added.
Laimwn Narzary, gold medalist said that she had dreamt to play international game in future. She said she would stress to gain more gold medals in life.

Two persons were killed and ten others sustain injury in police firing at Panabari under Bijni police station in Chirang district just after declaration of election result for Kokrajhar Lok Sabha today. An IED weighing of around 4 kgs was recovered from Jadumani village under Fakiragram police station late last night, a day ahead of parliamentary election result counting tomorrow in Kokrajhar. Police said that getting tiptop information about the IED police raided the area and recovered the IED last night wee hour from a house. Police arrested two persons identified as Kripa Roy and Jayanta Roy for involving keeping with IED which was kept by KLO militants. Assam Police and CRPF jawans apprehended a person and recovered huge arms and ammunitions on Sunday evening at Chapaguri in Chirang district. Security forces intercepted a Maruti WagonR with one M16 Rifle, silencer, one .303 rifle and 140 round ammunitions. Police arrested one Rajkumar Prasad, hailing from Dimapur. Police arrested three persons in connection with the killing of AIUDF leader Suleman Ali Mandal in Gossaigaon on Thursday.Familiy members said that Suleman was murdered late last by three youth of the same village at around 11.30 pm when they called for night duty in the village.
