Gogoi admits 2014 voter list

Chief minister Tarun Gogoi on Monday made it plain and simple that his government wants 2014 voter list as one of the supportive documents to update the national registrar of citizens.

Responding to the legislators who asked him to clear his position, Gogoi said that the list would be required if the documents earlier announced by the Supreme Court are not available for an indigenous citizen.

He said that his government has already moved the Supreme Court for consideration which has not so far rejected the affidavit.

Mr. Tarun Gogoi is going mad because the assembly election of Assam is approaching. He is such a person who knows only vote bank politics. He is a useless Chief Minister of Assam who has no interest to protect the indigenous communities of Assam rather he is ready to protect the illegal Bangladeshis who entered illegally to our land. The vote bank politics of Congress in Assam will lead our state to be part of Bangladesh. Tarun Gogoi will sell Assam to Bangladesh and he along with his family will settlen down in London.

Amid massive security measures, polling are going on in Diphu Lok Sabha constituency on Saturday.Altogether 6,97,567 voters are expected to exercise their franchise at 1006 booths to decide on the fate of 6 candidates.The authorities have identified 54 booths as hyper sensitive along with 233 very sensitive and 412 sensitive. As many as 17 companies of security forces have been deployed in the constituency and helicopter surveillance was conducted since Thursday to monitor the movement of militants.In the fray are six candidates. Congress president Sonia Gandhi along with vice president Rahul Gandhi and Prime Minister Manmohan Singh will visit Assam to campaign for the candidates who are contesting in the third phase of polls slated for April 24.AICC sources told Assam Times in New Delhi that the party high command has agreed to campaign in the state after it received request from the Rajiv Bhawan.The party is set to hold at least seven rallies for the third phase of polls where the trio would attend.Party leaders in New Delhi claimed that they would not get less than ten seats in the state.

Badaruddin Ajmal seems to have landed in trouble again.According to a statement, the country’s poll panel has served notice to the AIUDF president seeking his clarification on his recent communal statement.The notice was issued to him after the commission took up a complaint filed by BJP.The commission has threatened him of strict action if he fails to clear his position by 11-30 on April 14.
